Back Talk - Hear It Less
As children grow and mature, they begin to question their parents more
often. Sometimes this can result in sassy back talk. I think
everyone can agree that sassiness does not make for pleasant listening.
Nor does it facilitate productive conflict resolution. How can back
talk be replaced with respect and good will? Try some of these

Play the Secret Word Game
Play A Game - Fairy Tale
Chain
Play a chain game that connects familiar fairy tales
(nursery rhymes and favorite picture books can also be included). The
first player starts by naming a fairy tale.
The second player names another fairy tale that
relates to the one first named in some way or another.
- The Three Little Pigs (both have wolves)
The third player continues the chain.
- Hansel and Gretel (houses were damaged in this tale
and in The Three Little Pigs)
Your chain links can be as creative as you are!
Have fun!
