Sweet and Sour Meatloaf

Sweet And Sour Meatloaf
ketchup
mustard
bread crumbs
dry onion soup mix
pepper
lean ground beef
sugar
ketchup
cider vinegar

Mashed Potatoes
potato
milk

Garlic Green Beans
canned green beans
margarine
Italian salad dressing
lemon juice
garlic


Full-day menu and grocery shopping list to accompany Sweet and Sour Meatloaf

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together ketchup, mustard, bread crumbs, onion soup and pepper for meatloaf.
  3. Add ground beef and use a fork to evenly absorb mixture into the meat.
  4. Shape into a loaf and place in a loaf pan
  5. Cover with foil and place in oven.
  6. Mix together sugar, ketchup and cider vinegar. Set aside.
  7. Peel potatoes and dice. Place in a saucepan with a lid. Cover with water and heat to boiling.
  8. Cover and reduce heat to low. Continue cooking until soft when pierced with a fork (20 to 30 minutes).
  9. Drain green beans and place in a saucepan with margarine, salad dressing, lemon juice and garlic. Heat over low heat until margarine is melted and beans are warm.
  10. When meatloaf is cooked thoroughly, drain off any excess fat, drizzle sugar mixture over the top and return to oven, uncovered.
  11. Drain water off potatoes, add milk and use an electric mixer to whip.
  12. Top with butter or margarine, salt and pepper and serve with meatloaf and green beans.
