Yummy Science - Ice Cream
When I was a child, we owned a hand-crank ice cream maker. We
thought the homemade ice cream tasted so much better than store-bought.
I think it was because we all took turns turning the crank, so we were not
just eating ice cream, we were enjoying the fruits of our labor.
It wasn't until I was much older and learned about heat conductors that I
realized why we needed the rock salt. The ice cream was sweet, not
salty!
Why do we need to put rock salt into the ice outside to make icecream? -
