Play A Math Game – Random Operations
To play the game, you will need index cards and dice (at least two, but add more for older learners).
On the index cards write the various math operations that everyone understands (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc).
Each player chooses an index card and then rolls the dice. Perform the operation on the index card using the numbers rolled on the dice.
Adapt the game to the skill level of the players. Examples:
- Roll two dice and add them together.
- Roll two dice and then roll one dice and divide a two digit number by a one digit number.
- Use four dice, roll one at a time and then name the decimal number created when they are lined up in the order rolled.
- Roll one die and then roll another. Raise the first number to the power of the second number.
