Fun, Educational Activities For Parents And Children

Children who receive lots of positive attention from the adults in their lives are more likely to develop a clear system of values and live a productive and satisfying life. Take a break from homework, housework, or wasting time and have some fun together! (There will be learning, too!)

Odd, But Fun! - Make A Hatbox Cake

Have you read the delightful story, The Hatbox Cake, by Miriam Clark Potter?  The main character places a cake in a hatbox, but the cake doesn't make it to the final destination in its original state.

Put a cake of your own in a box and see what happens (in the interest of Science, of course).  The idea for this activity comes from Wondertime.

Wondertime: Feed Me a Story: Recipes From Favorite Children Stories - and More Joys of Parenting Young Children

Find this story and other children's favorites in your library.

Let's hear a story; 30 stories and poems for today's boys and girls. [WorldCat.org]
