Movies - Educational Opportunities

Most of us would consider watching a movie a form of pure entertainment.  But, when you think about it, we learn a lot about the world as well as some lessons (both positive and negative) in character.

I particularly enjoy movies that contain themes of uplifting character.  The movie Pay It Forward is one example of films that exemplify kindness and sharing.  (Although some ratfink told me how the movie ended before I had seen it.)

What are some things you have learned by watching movies?  Your list probably includes facts about history, religions and cultures as well as a wealth of trivial knowledge.
