often is, "Why do I have to learn this? When
will I ever use this?"
Applying math concepts to everyday life can help
tremendously in increasing motivation to learn.
Ask your children (and yourselves) how math topics
do relate to everyday life.
Take rounding, for example. Think of situations
where you would round numbers to the next highest
or lowest multiple of ten? The first situation
I think of is shopping with a limited amount of
money to spend. Think of other situations.
