Math – What Is Your Special Birthday Number?

To find your special number, add all the numbers of your birthday together until you end up with one single digit number. For example, someone born on August 11, 1980 would have the numbers:
0+8+1+1+1+9+8+0

Add the first two numbers together

0+8 = 8

8+1+1+1+9+8+0

Now add the next pair

8+1 = 9

9+1+1+9+8+0

This time, however when we add the 9+1 we get 10, so 1+0 = 1

1+1+9+8+0

Next 1+1=2

2+9+8+0

Next 2+9 = 11, then 1+1 = 2

2+8+0

Next 2+8 = 10, then 1+0 = 1

1+0 = 1

This person's special number is 1.

Do any of the members of your family have the same special number?

Creativity Stretcher – Animal Sayings

Do you ever wonder what it would be like if animals could talk? Don't you think they would have favorite sayings just like humans?

We say, "Get a life!" A cat might say, "Get a lap!"

We say, "Just do it!" A dog might say, "Just dig it!"

Have fun thinking up some others!
