Mental Math – How Much Change?
Challenge each other to name the change that
would be returned during imaginary transactions.
Here is an example to get you started:
I buy a bag of peanuts for 99 cents and a soda
for $1.09. I give the clerk a five dollar bill.
How much change should I get back?
Answer: The total of my purchases was $2.08.
I should get $2.92 back, so you would need to
tell me that I get 2 one dollar bills, 3 quarters,
1 dime, 1 nickel, and 2 pennies.
Make the questions as easy or as hard as necessary
to make it fun and challenging for everyone!

Labeling Moods And Behavior – Turn On The Positive Light
Some words that describe our moods and behavior bring up bad
connotations. Are there other words that could describe the
same thing in a more positive light?
For example, someone could describe a certain type of behavior
as rowdy, while another person might describe the person as being
energetic. Someone could accuse you of being sullen when you were
in a thoughtful mood.
Name other moods or behaviors where a more positive word could
replace a negative label.
