Fun, Educational Activities For Parents And Children

Children who receive lots of positive attention from the adults in their lives are more likely to develop a clear system of values and live a productive and satisfying life. Take a break from homework, housework, or wasting time and have some fun together! (There will be learning, too!)

Is It Expensive? – Make A Graph

You might be amazed by the results you get when graphing the cost per gallon of various liquids. This lesson plan from Education World offers activities for grades 3-5; 6-8; 9-12.

And You Thought Gasoline Was Expensive!

To adapt this to younger children collect a variety of items of varying costs. (Convenience stores are a good place to find items with price stickers attached.) The simplest graph would be physically arranging the items from lowest price to highest price. More advanced would be to color in squares on a graph to represent the different prices.

If you have an hour or so to spend on this activity, go to the stores for your research.
