Share Your Knowledge – Art Genres

To introduce the idea of art as having many different forms, compare a comic strip to a photograph. Compare a statue to a landscaped garden. Now think of some of your own.

Different Perspectives – Levels Of Vision

Shared experiences are not identical experiences. As we look out on and interact with the world, we do so from our own level of vision or perspective.

Let's present an example of a family of five sharing a trip to the mall. Each person is viewing the experience from a different perspective and therefore seeing something unique.

  • Person one sees an opportunity to spend money at the arcade.
  • Person two sees an opportunity to hook up with friends.
  • Person three sees an opportunity to make a well-deserved, self-indulgent purchase.
  • Person four sees an opportunity to play the When I Win the Lottery fantasy game.
  • Person five sees a missed opportunity to do so many other things.

Think up some other situations and explore differing perspectives. Or think up some different levels of vision for the above example, store employees, parents of crying children, etc.
