Grocery Shopping List for Ben's Cheesy Pretzels
Ben's Cheesy Pretzels
From kitchen to table in 45 minutes.
1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons softened butter
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons flour
1 egg
3 tablespoons coarse salt (optional)

Directions
- Place flour, baking powder and sugar in a mixing bowl and toss with a fork to mix.
- Cut butter into dry ingredients until pebbly and then stir in cheese. Add milk and stir gently with a wooden spoon to make a soft dough.
- Sprinkle flour onto a bread board or other clean, flat surface. Place ball of dough onto flour, turn and knead 10 times. Divide into 16 pieces.
- Turn oven on to 400 degrees.
- On floured surface (add more flour if necessary) roll each segment of dough into a 12 inch rope. Twist into pretzels and place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
- Beat egg until foamy. Spread evenly over each pretzel. Sprinkle with coarse ground salt if desired.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
