For Parents And Children
Children who receive lots of positive attention from the adults in their
lives are more likely to develop a clear system of values and live a
productive and satisfying life. Take a break from homework, housework, or
wasting time and have some fun together! (There will be learning, too!)
Tall Tales – Use Of Exaggeration
Storytellers often use exaggeration
to make a point. Most readers find tall tales
to be humorous, but they can also be intended
to frighten. Examining tall tales can be an enriching
experience and help build writing skills of students.
Expose your child to the way authors can use exaggeration
like a magnifying glass to enlarge certain aspects
of the story and provoke emotion in the reader.

read some tall tales on the internet. After reading
the stories, find the examples of exaggeration.
